it’s beginning to feel a lot like i’m on my own
Christmas is just around the corner, and so is my final paycheque. But I’m not worried. I’m almost done the Olive web site, and I’ve been getting a few maintenance gigs here and there. Nothing big yet, but I’ve got cash flow through to February, I figure, provided I’m frugal. Which I’m not, usually.
There’s a certain amount of stress here given that it’s not just me we’re talking about. Hell, if it was, it’d be no big deal. But I have to provide for the wife and kid, too. Probably the hardest part has been readjusting to working from home. I’ve been so used to having somewhere to go that I start to get restless by mid-afternoon and start looking for excuses to “run errands” – which is really just a euphemism for “go to the bar.”
